When Does Stubborness Become a Problem?

Jack married Lisa. Jack was a rancher. Lisa loved France. Lisa wanted to share her love of France with Jack. She coaxed him into flying to Paris for a visit. He hated it. Why? He said that waiters looked at his cowboy hat like he was a dumb hick. Well, why didn’t he leave his cowboy hat at the hotel? Was he stubborn? Was his stubborness causing a problem for Jack more than Lisa? Jack. Why?

Who do you know who is stubborn? Maybe you are stubborn. When does your stubborness cause problems for you? Is stubborness a mental illness? It’s not classified as one in the DSM but maybe it should be. What does stubborness do to the one having it. This is the crucial question you have to answer. If you’ve never thought about it, you probably have no idea what you have lost in the past or will in the future.

Stubborn people tend to be proud of having stubborness. They think of it as the same virtue as determination. No, stubborness is not determination. Show me a determined person and I’ll show you a survivor, usually a creative one.
