Years ago, our family suffered neighbors from Hell. I got so angry at times that I couldn’t go to sleep for ruminating over their poor manners. Despite myths of multitasking, one’s mind can only focus on one thought at a time. I sought images upon which to focus so I could sleep.
My first image was a small fir Christmas tree in the fog. It amazed me how something so simple could replace Xanax so easily. My second was as if looking through my car door window that had been broken out. No, the neighbors had not done that. After the tree and car door lost their power, I imagined a barn door. It held it’s power for ten years until the neighbors moved.
Anybody can think of a tree or barn door but all too often those images lose their power of focus. People come to me as a professional for three reasons. First, they know that I’ve learned of many images that have worked for others. Second, They believe that in searching for images I am bringing healing to old issues. Third, they want to learn more about themselves, a by-product of professional counseling.
So, even if you don’t have neighbors from Hell call me anyhow. Let me help you understand some of the deeper reasons for your worry or anxiety. 404-487-1956 and leave a message with phone number. Let’s put more life back in your life.
