Fiercely Independent

One or both being fiercely independent is a source of unhappiness and often divorce. This is one of those situations where the couple is unhappy but do not know why. When single, the independent person feels competent in everything he or she does because it is only he or she that does it. Put the independent person in a relationship and he or she no longer knows how to think or behave. It seems to the other that all of a sudden this mate has more problems than the one making the observation and neither knows how to fix the other. This can be true when one or both are independent before marriage.
